Riviera Nayarit has become a very popular sailing destination for international sailing events, local regattas, and cruisers alike. The destination encompasses over 200 miles of coastline and includes the waters of Banderas Bay. Banderas Bay is one of the largest bays in the world and is well know to the international sailing community.
2022 marks the second time that the ILCA World Championships have been held in the Riviera Nayarit, the first being in 2016. In the past 15 years, Vallarta Yacht Club has played host to 8 international championships including the 2011 Pan Am Games.
